Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for uninterrupted power supply throughout the state on the festival. The Department of Energy has also prepared accordingly.

Along with Deepawali, the festival of lights, the city and village of the market will also be illuminated on Chhath Puja.

This time the state government will supply round the clock electricity to keep the homes of the markets and villages bright on Diwali and Chhath Puja, as well as to keep the houses lighted.

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation has arranged additional supplies for this. Under this, ’round the clock’ electricity will be provided from 25 October to 11 November. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for uninterrupted power supply throughout the state on the festival.

The Department of Energy has also prepared accordingly. Principal Secretary Energy and Power Corporation Chairman Alok Kumar said that for uninterrupted supply, about 20 thousand MW power will be required.

The department is currently supplying 17 thousand MW daily, while additional power has been arranged for Deepawali, which will be supplied round the clock.

In order to maintain supply, the Energy Department has instructed the officials to fix the breakdown as soon as possible so that consumers do not suffer.

The officials have been asked to increase the number of gangs who are repairing and arrange all the necessary equipment in advance. The Principal Secretary said that holidays of all engineers and employees have been banned, except in unavoidable circumstances.

24-hour duty of employees has been imposed. Handing over the disturbance at night to the Quick Response Team, the Energy Department has issued a toll free number 1912 for this.

Consumers can lodge a complaint on this number. The Principal Secretary informed that the department has made arrangements for trolley transformers to continue supply even when the transformer is blown.

While 70 trolley transformers will be available in Lucknow, 25 trolley transformers have been arranged in major metros and more than 10 in smaller cities.

A control room has been set up in all the distribution corporation headquarters and districts to monitor the supply. According to the schedule released by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, there will be no power cut in the villages till Deepawali.
